Jerusalem: Walls and Gates Private Tour

Starting at David’s Citadel museum, were we can learn about the city’s history, including a 360 degrees observation on the old and new Jerusalem.

Just next to the museum at the Jaffa Gate we will start a walking tour on the city’s wall!  This is an amazing way to explore the old city “from above”. The tour will take us to the Damascus Gate, the gate that is known as the most beautiful gate of Jerusalem – the new gate was built by “Suleiman the Great” in 1538.  there we will visit the old gate built by the Emperor Adrianus in the second century,  just under the new gate.

A short walk from the gate is Zidkiyahu’s Cave – a large cave used as a quarry 2000 years ago, and was discovered by mistake. The myth says that the long and deep cave that’s located under the old city was used to extract religious artifacts in old times. We will finish the tour at the special bakery making the beloved sweets “Knafe” and “Baklava”.
