Private Tour Following Rabi Yehuda Hanasi & the “Sanhedrin” in the Galilee

This private tour follows Rabi Yehuda Hanasi Known as “Rabbi” in the Galilee. “Rabbi” was the head of the “Sanhedrin”- a 71 member Jewish court that gave verdicts to the Jewish people in old times.

We start the tour at the Beit Shearim site in the lower Galilee. At the time, this city was the home place of the “Sanhedrin” with the home of “rabbi” just next to the synagogue. Just below the city we will find many burial caves including the one of “Rabbi”, his wife and sons.

After a typical Arabic style lunch at Kfar Manda, we will continue the tour to the old city of “Zippory”- “The City that Lays High Above”.

Zippory was the capital of the Galilee 2000 years ago, hosting Jews and Gentiles living side by side in harmony. We will start the tour at the synagogue where we will watch a movie about the life and death of “Rabbi”. after the emotional movie we will take a walking tour at the site, looking at the “Mona Lisa of the Galilee”, “Rabbi’s” beautiful villa and the roman city below.

In the end of the Zippory tour we will descend to the incredible water system that provided water to the lower and higher city, and learn how, 2000 years ago they moved water up!
