Masada is one of the most exciting tour attractions in Israel. The mountain complex was built by “King Herod” 2000 years ago as a shelter in bad times and as a winter palace in regular times, and was the scene of one of the most dramatic events in the life of the Jewish people at 73 AC.
Going up the mountain by cable car is a special experience, the majestic views of the desert are simply breathtaking. On the mountain visiting the rebels’ synagogue is an especially moving experience. Nearby is the room that is possibly the place they voted to choose death over Roman slavery. We will also visit “King Herod’s” palace- an extraordinary three level complex, learn how they had water in the meddle of the desert.
At the base of the mountain is a modern visitors’ center with an innovative museum, a spacious souvenir complex, and places to eat and relax.
