This private tour is devoted to the beautiful region of the “Judean Lowlands”. This area brings together biblical sites and stories, stunning views, rich archaeological destinations, unique geological features – and great wineries!
The day starts with a visit to “Tel Lachish”, This city was the second most important city in the Judean kingdom, second only to Jerusalem, at the time of “King Hezekiah”, famous for its testimony to the Assyrian conquest in 701 BCE. We will tell the story of the city and its demise.
Next we head to the Battle site of “David and Goliath”. From the top of “Tel Azekah” we review the battle site below and tell the story from the Babel.
For lunch we can either drive to one of the local wineries and try there specialty cheese plate with wine tasting or eat lunch in one of the area’s restaurants.
After lunch and if time permits we can visit the underground city of “Maresha” and the Roman amphitheater at “Beit Guvrin”.
